Remote Learning

Remote learning is a key part of our blended learning offer. We deliver remote learning through Teams (Microsoft Office 365), which allows pupils who aren’t in school to access lessons from home or from another location. In addition, we supply paper based work and other learning resources such as art materials and items for science experiments.

We record our lessons and upload them to Teams. Contact is made with parents and carers to support remote learning. Pupils are provided with access to their class Teams, a learning pack and instructions. Blended learning packs are linked to individual EHC Plans. Pupils then follow the same curriculum as they would if they were in school.

We support our remote curriculum with a range of other online learning platforms such as Oak National Academy lessons, White Rose Hub lessons and BBC bitesize videos. We also use Mathletics, Times Tables Rock Stars and Teach Your Monster to Read for all children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. We also provide access to electronic reading books across all key stages.

We offer a live call with other pupils to support the maintenance of relationships with peers in school.

If your child is unable to attend school, we expect them to engage with remote learning every day if they are physically well. We provide feedback on progress in a variety of ways, and we celebrate progress.
