Outcomes And Results
The Equality Act 2010 ensures protection from discrimination, harassment and victimisation on the grounds of specific characteristics (referred to in legislation as “protected” characteristics).
For schools this means that it is unlawful to discriminate against pupils or treat them less favourably because of their gender, race, disability, religion or belief, gender reassignment and sexual orientation.

The safety and well-being of our children and young people is our priority. We consider our pupils to be very vulnerable and we believe it is important they are equipped with skills to live as independently as possible. This includes the ability to recognise and identify risks to their safety and well-being.
All of our staff receive regular training in recognising safeguarding and radicalisation issues so they can effectively and confidently identify the signs of abuse, neglect and exploitation. We work with a range of specialist safeguarding agencies, including:
- Children’s Social Care Team
- Family Intervention Team
- Family Support Workers
- Community Nursing Team
- Paediatric consultants
- School nursing team
- Occupational therapists
- Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services

The Pupil Premium is additional funding that the Government gives to schools for each pupil on roll who have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) within the last 6 years, those who are or have been looked after by the local authority and children who have parents in the armed forces.
The amount given to the school varies each year. It must be spent on supporting pupil’s education and it is up to the school to determine how it is best spent to improve opportunities and maximise outcomes for pupils.
In 2022/23, Marchbank Free School will receive £31,663 in Pupil Premium funding.
All schools are required to report the amount of funding they have receive, plan how they will spend it and explain the outcomes achieved from the investment made.
